"HIQA has released a draft health technology assessment (HTA) evaluating the clinical and cost-effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccination in Ireland for the 2027/2028 campaign. The assessment, published on 29 June 2026, aims to inform the Department of Health and HSE on which groups should be funded for vaccination. It incorporates updated NIAC recommendations and considers epidemiological data, vaccine efficacy, economic impact, and ethical implications. Public consultation is open for feedback."
