HIQA Publishes 28 Inspection Reports on Disability Centres (hiqa.ie)
- 28 inspection reports on disability centres published
- Good practices found in multiple centres
- Improvements required in risk management and medication handling
"HIQA released 28 inspection reports on designated centres for people with disabilities, operated by Avista, ChildVision, HSE, and others. Inspectors found good practices in many centres, with residents expressing happiness and autonomy. However, some centres required improvements: Daffodil Care Services had insufficient risk management and safeguarding, Dundas Unlimited Company had inadequate healthcare monitoring, and a HSE-operated centre needed better medication management and governance. Providers submitted compliance plans. The inspections were conducted under the Health Act 2007 regulations and National Standards for Residential Services for People with Disabilities."
