0xBASE INTEL BRIEF
  • RSV vaccine recommended for all aged ≥75, and for those 60-74 with risk factors or in LTCF
  • Three vaccines authorised: Arexvy, Abrysvo, mRESVIA
  • Very rare Guillain-Barré syndrome risk, especially with Abrysvo

"Ireland's National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC) has updated its recommendations for RSV vaccination in older adults. Vaccination is now recommended for all individuals aged 75 and older, and for those aged 60-74 with risk factors or living in long-term care facilities. Three vaccines (Arexvy, Abrysvo, mRESVIA) are available. Safety monitoring indicates a very rare risk of Guillain-Barré syndrome, particularly after Abrysvo. Co-administration with other seasonal vaccines is possible."
