"Ireland's National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC) has released updated, standing COVID-19 vaccination recommendations, moving away from interim guidance. Twice-yearly vaccination is recommended for all aged 80+, adults in long-term care facilities, and immunocompromised individuals aged 6 months+. Once-yearly vaccination is recommended for those aged 60-79 and those aged 6 months-59 with high-risk conditions. Health and care workers (HCWs) and pregnant individuals can access vaccination following a healthcare discussion. The recommendations reflect reduced disease severity, lack of seasonality, and updated vaccine effectiveness data. Autumn and spring campaigns remain preferred but may be adjusted. Uptake among HCWs was 9.1% and among pregnant women 6.3% in the last campaign."
