"HIQA has published a protocol for a health technology assessment (HTA) of the transition to and organisation of adult healthcare services for individuals with severe neurological impairment (SNI). The HTA will evaluate clinical effectiveness, economic impact, and organisational implications of models for transitioning from paediatric to adult care. It will include an international review, epidemiology, current Irish service organisation, and ethical considerations. The findings will inform the Minister for Health and the HSE. The protocol outlines methodology including systematic reviews, economic evaluation, and expert advisory group input."
