"HIQA has published the National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities, effective January 2013. These outcome-based standards replace previous drafts and apply to all residential and respite services in Ireland, regardless of operator. They are organized into eight themes including individualised supports, effective services, safety, health and development, leadership, resources, workforce, and information. The standards aim to ensure person-centred care, safeguarding, and quality improvement across designated centres for people with disabilities."
