"HIQA has published an independent review by Forvis Mazars of its regulatory inspection processes for designated centres for older people. The review found HIQA's processes are effective overall but identified areas for improvement, including inspection of staff culture and accountability of parent companies. HIQA also published 54 inspection reports on 23 nursing homes operated by Emeis Ireland, revealing that seven centres had significant challenges requiring additional regulatory action, including admission restrictions. Reports on the two centres featured in the RTÉ programme are withheld pending legal proceedings."
