"The National Centre for Pharmacoeconomics (NCPE) in Ireland has completed its health technology assessment of belzutifan (Welireg) for treating von Hippel-Lindau disease. The NCPE recommends that belzutifan not be reimbursed unless its cost-effectiveness improves relative to existing treatments. The assessment process ran from March 2025 to May 2026, culminating in a negative recommendation. The HSE will consider this report alongside patient submissions before making a final reimbursement decision under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013."
