"A PhD thesis from Dublin City University presents a national study measuring undergraduate nursing students' general cultural awareness and specific knowledge of death rituals practiced by Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism in Ireland. The research, conducted across eight institutions and funded by DCU's School of Nursing, Psychotherapy and Community Health, aims to identify gaps in nursing education regarding culturally competent end-of-life care. Using the Campinha-Bacote model of cultural competence as a framework, the study provides evidence to inform curriculum development and improve patient care for diverse populations in Ireland."
