"Sleep research has led to a new drug for sleep apnea that prevents airway collapse during sleep. The drug, still in clinical trials, targets neurotransmitters controlling respiratory muscles. Early studies show a 40% reduction in apnea episodes. A Phase II trial with 200 patients is ongoing."
