"HIQA has published an evidence review to inform the update of its 2013 National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities. The review considers legislative changes including Ireland's ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015. Key areas identified for updated standards include a human rights-based approach, governance, safeguarding, person-centred planning, communication, and transitions.
