COVID-19 Spring Booster Uptake in Ireland: HPSC Reports Low Early Uptake Among Over-80s (hpsc.ie)

• Only 8.9% of over-80s vaccinated in early 2026 spring campaign vs 20.9% at same point in 2025.
• Fair Deal residents: 30.8% uptake, similar to 31.5% in early 2025 but much lower than 57.4% over longer 2025 period.
• Total doses administered (22,347) are less than half of the 54,297 over comparable period last year.
• GPs administered 48.6% of over-80s vaccines, HSE 44.4%, pharmacies 7.0%.
• Campaign targets 80+, immunocompromised, and long-term care residents.
